Local Business & Community Advocate
Penn is an integral part of Hawaii Island’s business community, having helped foster responsible economic development through numerous Hawaii County forums in addition to having served on several marketing committees – including the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce (KKCC) and the Island of Hawaii Visitor’s Bureau (IHVB).
His community advocacy runs deep island-wide as well, particularly in Kona where he has resided for the past 20-years. An always-active member of the local sports community, Penn can often be found at any of the local swim-bike-run events with his family.
Kona's Jingle Bell Beach Run
Since 2005, Penn and his wife (Rani) have organized Kona’s annual Jingle Bell Beach Run, the largest 5K run on the Big Island. The event is a community favorite attracting over 1,000 participants with a portion of the proceeds benefiting local charities for children.
