When I moved to Hawaii from Colorado in 2001, I was captivated by the island’s natural beauty—lush vegetation, exotic trees, and the incredible variety of climates. I knew I wanted to put down roots in Kona, but at the time, I had little knowledge of the different areas across West Hawaii. After a couple of years' worth of searching and exploring dozens of properties, we finally discovered a great 5-acre lot tucked near the heart of Kona—the perfect place to build our family’s future.

That was just the beginning. I took an active role in every aspect of the process, including land clearing, collaborating with surveyors, architects, and engineers, and navigating the complexities of building permits and county requirements. It was both challenging and rewarding.
